The winter is over, the kitesurfing season officially opened on March 15. The conditions in spring are ideal for beginners. Here are the four main reasons.
In the spring, the temperature differences between the cold sea and the warming land are large. This creates a thermal wind that is often stable and reliable. For beginners, a constant wind is crucial. It makes controlling the kite more predictable and the learning process a lot easier. The wind is often not as strong as in the autumn storms, which creates a safe and comfortable learning environment.
The big summer crowds have yet to arrive. In the spring, you often have the beach and the water to yourself. This means more space to practice, less stress, and a safer environment. You can fully concentrate on your lesson without worrying about swimmers or other kitesurfers. At our lesson location, the Zandmotor, you already have a lot of space, but in the spring it's absolutely perfect.
If you learn to kitesurf in the spring, you have the entire summer and autumn to practice and improve. After completing your course, you can immediately put your new skills into practice. You can start riding independently, rent equipment, or maybe even buy your own kitesurfing set. This way, by the end of the season, you'll be a confident kitesurfer, ready for any adventure.

Our beginner's course is specially designed to teach you the basics of kitesurfing in three days. On day one, you learn everything about safety, the wind window, and controlling the kite on the beach. On day two, you go into the water and practice body dragging and the water start. On day three, it's the real deal: you get on the board and ride your first meters!
All materials are included: wetsuit, helmet, harness, kite, and board. Wondering what to bring yourself? We've written a handy article about it. The cost of a beginner's course starts from €269 for three days.
The seawater is still fresh in the spring, but with the modern, thick wetsuits we provide, you will stay comfortably warm. The adrenaline and effort do the rest! We use 5/4mm wetsuits specially designed for these conditions.
The Dutch weather is unpredictable, but that's not a problem. If a lesson cannot take place due to too little or too much wind, or thunderstorms, we will reschedule the lesson to another time free of charge. Safety and the best learning experience are paramount.
