Kitesurfspot has high quality, therefore both the school and our instructors are IKO certified. Lessons are provided at a professional level in accordance with the requirements of the International Kiteboarding Organization.

Our kiteschool is located on the beach next to the warm nest of Beachclub Birds.
But we are also mobile and we can teach at multiple locations. We choose the most convenient location depending on the wind direction. Kijkduin, Den Haag, Scheveningen en Monster.

Time flies when your having fun, and Mark is a funny guy whom explains everything very wel. The lessons are clear and perfectly arranged.

Our answers to frequently asked questions
how many hours of lesson do I need?
This differs per person, but the average student needs between 9 and 12 hours of kitesurf lessons to be able to go on the water independently. This means that you can ride left and right in a safe way and implement a controlled stop.
Is it hard to get the hang of kitesurfing?
Kitesurfing is an extreme sport and is difficult in the beginning, but under the guidance of our enthusiastic instructors your learning curve is fast and above all safe.
Is kitesurfing dangerous?
Kitesurfing is an extreme sport. That is why it is important that you learn the sport under the guidance of certified instructors. Never try to learn in by yourself and never go on the water on your own.
Our instructors ensure that you learn kitesurfing in a safe way with all necessary safety systems.
Can I book a group lesson on my own?

We do our utmost to fill up all kite surfing lessons. It is possible that no fellow student is available on the day of your kitesurfing lesson.
You will then be offered a private or duo lesson at a reduced rate or we will move your group lesson to another date in consultation.
Do you need to be strong to be able to kitesurf?
Most people think that you have to be horribly strong to control the kite. However, this is not so bad. The kite is connected to your harness, this means that you can control the kite with two fingers 😊
From what age can you learn to kitesurf?
To be eligible for kitesurfing lessons you must be at least 8 years and a body weight of 33 kg.
I have knee / back / arm complaints, can I learn to kitesurf?
In most cases this is certainly allowed. Do you still have doubts? Then it is advisable to first seek expert advice.
How hard need the wind to blow for kitesurfing lessons?
Not too hard 😉, but not too soft either. The minimum wind to learn kite surfing is 10 knots (3 beaufort). The maximum wind to learn kite surfing is 30 knots (7 beaufort).
What means IKO?
IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization) means that Kitesurfspot complies with the standards, values, laws and regulations of the organization. Lessons are provided at a professional level in accordance with the requirements of IKO.
What if there is no wind?
If the wind is not good enough for kitesurfing, we will schedule another appointment. The evening before your lesson you will receive a message from us whether your lesson will have a green light, which means there is enough wind.
What should i bring to the kitesurf lessons?
Take your beach towel, swimming trunks, bikini and sunscreen. If you prefer to wear your own wetsuit, please do. You don’t have a wetsuit? No problem, these can be rented from us for € 7.50 per lesson.
Do I need a wetsuit?
Yes, the North Sea can sometimes be quite chilly, but with a wetsuit you will be nice and warm.
A wetsuit can be rented from us for € 7.50 per lesson.
Do I have to rent extra things?
The only thing we offer extra for rent is a wetsuit (at € 7.50 per lesson).
Of course you can also put on your own wetsuit.

Where do I get kitesurfing lessons?
The location is Kijkduin On the border of The Hague and below Scheveningen. The address to park your car is Machiel Vrijenhoeklaan 350, you can park here completely free of charge.
The course (s) concern the following:
Day 1 will mostly take place on the beach with bodydragging in the sea as the final exercise.
Day 2 we will spend a lot of time in the sea.
Day 3 will be water start on the Zandmotor-Kijkduin.
Day 4 will be even more water starting on the Zandmotor-Kijkduin.
The Zandmotor is an ideal place to learn the basics of water starting, but during the summer months it can get pretty busy here, then the sea is closeby where we have more room to practice.

The location of Kitesurfspot is easily accessible by car and public transport.

For public transport take bus 23, 24 or 26 from The Hague Central direction Kijkduin.
How can I sign up for kitesurfing lessons?
Click on ‘Kitesurfing’ in the menu.
Make a choice whether you go for the 1, 3 or 4-day kite surfing course.
You will then be redirected to our booking system. Enter the required information there and indicate your availability.
Then keep an eye on your mailbox / spam.
How can I make the payment?
Prior to the lesson you can use pay the attached payment link. Payment can be made in cash at the location.
Have you already paid, but not able to complete the kitesurf course?
As soon as we cannot finish the lessons, we try to plan a new date together as quickly as possible.
We do not want your progression to be delayed. However, the lesson (s) must be scheduled within 4 weeks.
If this does not fit your agenda, you will of course receive the remaining amount of money back.

Will I receive a certificate afterwards?
Absolutely. As soon as you participate in the 3 or 4 day course you will receive an IKO certificate (International Kiteboarding Organization).
With this you can prove what your level is as soon as you want to rent kitegear. This certificate is valid all over the world.
